Supporting Children with Additional Needs.

We operate an inclusive setting and  nursery has a designated SENCO, Lauren Clarke.  Lauren has been a SENCO for one and a half years and has been on a module training senco course as well as training for speech and language, autism, behaviour management and child protection.  Lauren ensures that Individual Educational Plans are made for children with specific needs.  She makes sure these are being followed and supports the child’s key person.  We promote an inclusive practice, everybody is welcome and we cater for individual children’s needs.  The nursery works well with other agencies, services and the children’s parents/carers to take into consideration ethnic background, home language, family background, religion/faith, learning difficulties and/or disabilities and gender to promote children’s care and education.

We have several outside agencies come into to the settings to offer help support and ideas.  The agencies that visit us are speech and language, area senco, health visitors, specialist teachers and specialist nurses.
