We are holding a Teddy Bears picnic in Hartsdown Park Saturday 19th August from 11.00am – 12.30pm. Come and join us for some fun and games.  Bring a picnic blanket and basket and most importantly your teddy ! . Everyone is welcome.

Our Margate Nursery is a newly refurbished two storey building, just off Victoria Road. The building is made up of three classrooms, one large sized pre-school classroom where toilets are attached for the children.  We also have a Two year olds room and a Baby Room complete with a separate sleep room.

Founded in 2013, Townsend Montessori Ltd @ Margate provides care for children aged from 3 months to 5 years.  We are open 7.30 am to 6pm Monday to Friday all year round.  We are closed for a week at Christmas and bank holidays. We have a small friendly team of experienced welcoming staff who enjoy planning developmentally challenging fun activities. We provide a safe and secure indoor and outdoor environment of three bright colourful classrooms for space up to 72 children and a garden area. We are open from 7.30am until 6.30 pm 5 days a week and we have part and full time spaces.

The garden has recently been transformed into an exciting outside space complete with adventure climbing frame, sandpit, planting area and separate baby garden.  We provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere where your child can flourish.

  • Baby Room - "Lion Cubs" | The Lion Cubs room is for children are aged from 3 months to 2 years. On one side of the classroom it has soft play mating on the floor and rugs to enable the younger babies to crawl around safely. There are low level browser boxes for the children to access a variety of toys and equipment. There is a book/quiet area for the children to relax and have quiet time. Also on this side of the classroom there is an art and craft area with a sand/water tray and a ball pool. On the other side of the classroom there is a low level climbing frame for all the children to use, a role play area and low level shelving for the children to access the toys and equipment with tables and chairs for them to sit at. The classroom has a sleep room attached to it, where there are cots available for the younger babies to sleep and also sleep mats for the toddlers to use. Download pdf
  • Two Year Olds Room - "Monkeys" | The Monkey Room is for children are aged from 2 to 3 years. The classroom is set out into different areas to enable the children to free flow from each area easily. Having the different named areas within the classroom helps the children with understanding where things belong and where to tidy the toys and equipment away when needed. Having the different named areas allows the children to have more of a choice of what they would like to use and to socialise with children who have chosen to play in the same area, they also keep the children stimulated. The areas within the classroom are role play including child sized wooden fridge freezer, cooker, microwave and washing machine, a book/quiet area for the children to relax and have quiet time, a art and craft area including a sand/water tray and a low level paint easel, a construction area with varied equipment such as large wooden blocks to train tracks, and low level shelving for the children to access puzzles and other various equipment, which they can take to one of the tables to use.   • Pre-School - "Tigers" | The Tiger room is for children aged from 3 years to school age. The classroom is accessed by a set of stairs leading up to the second floor. The classroom is 'L' shaped with the children's toilets attached to the classroom. The classroom is set up into different areas to enable the children to have free choice with the toys and equipment they choose to use. The children are able to free flow between the different areas, and are encouraged to put toys and equipment back where it belongs for the next child to use. The children are able to choose toys and equipment and take them to a nearby table to use and staff within the classroom lead activities that the children can choose to go and take part in if they wish. The classroom has different named areas these are a role play area with child sized appliances such as a fridge and a cooker and a dressing up frame for the children to dress in various clothing, an art and craft area with a sand and water tray and a low level paint easel for the children to use,. A book/quiet area for the children to relax and have quiet time, an I.C.T area with a low level computer There is a construction and small world area with varied toys and activities such as a farmyard to small Lego. A maths and language area with equipment to promote learning in these areas. The Montessori area includes Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Cultural.
